March & April 1999

This area is mostly for my friends & family. Photos were taken with a Kodak DC20 or a Kodak DC120 Zoom, scaled & in some cases color corrected.

Taken exactly at 601 Kearny, at Sacramento.
This particular corner of the city is host to some very old buildings, and as such is one of my favorite places to photograph. Unfortunately, I have yet to get many good photos out of it. This is another one of those cases where I was taking some pictures and practically ended up with an audience.

California around Montgomery.
Hopefully I'm not repeating myself when I comment that at times one will see an op and not even bother looking through the viewfinder. Occasionally this ends up making a nice photo of what you were shooting at. Sometimes you get a poorly exposed shot of your danged foot. Now and again you'll wind up with an appealing photo of something you weren't even trying to shoot.
Such is the case with this photo. I can't even remember what I was really aiming at. What else could this photo be called but 'man walking'?

50 First Street, 5th Floor.
Such a wacky danged space. I walked out of a vendor's office and stopped in my tracks. This hallway is so wierdly laid out & lighted that I took five good photos in the space of a minute or two.

Same place as above..
They should shoot a movie in this building. It has a freight elevator which opens in pretty strange places in the building as well. One minute the door opens and you're looking at someplace like this, three floors down it opens right smack dab in the middle of a weight room of a 24 hour gym! Mirrors everywhere, that universal "let's get pumped everybody!" music, and some chick in technicolor spandex lifting weights.

Kearny at Bush.
Sometimes I need a reminder that I live in a city because sometimes San Francisco can feel like an overgrown provincial town. You know what makes a city a city? A city is a place where anything and everything which isn't bolted down disappears and everything not built to withstand a whole ton of people and their cars is broken. Oh. And you need a 1 hour photomat within a 5 block radius at all times.

In the Mission on 16th somewhere in the vicinity of Valencia.
Ended up making me feel somewhat like a voyeur peeping on some unsuspecting coat, innocently hanging in somebody's window. The end result, however, makes it a good "city" picture.
