I've always been somewhat interested in bugs. When I found the ladybug, I put it in a CD jewel case and grabbed a magnifying glass, realizing that this was a perfect chance to take some photos. Here's an example of one of the results.
Looking at the photos, I realized that the background had washed out to white from the flash, so I could play with them. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to study Chinese Brush Painting, so I put together some bare-bones compositions in that style.
I was pretty happy with the finished product, especially the third one down.
